Smokers will soon have to pay more to keep their habit

I think ... it's a discrimination against people who smoke, because they're taxing a select few … they're not taxing a person who buys Red Bull everyday.

Research does show, however, that taxing cigarettes by 10 percent encourages people to quit. It reduces the number of teen smokers by seven percent. And about 5 percent for smoking adults kick the habit.

Smoking can also burn a hole in your wallet,and the tax increase is to help fund the state children's health insurance program.
